Almost every patient that came to Joyful Dermatology last week was super stressed.

Lots of stories of crying in the car.
Being overwhelmed.

Plenty of tears were shed at Joyful too.. the first moment of sitting down and taking a breath can feel.. a lot.

So if last week was kinda rough for you (as it was for me too), know it’s not just you.

No, you didn’t do anything wrong. No, you couldn’t have prepared more, done it more efficiently, or handled anything better than you did.

Everything you did was enough, and all turned out as it should have.

Being in the company of incredible folks over and over again at Joyful is a gift for me, and I wish there was a way we could experience this together. Until I figure that magic out, I hope this helps you.

Our end of the summer trip, a little Pacific North

Our end of the summer trip, a little Pacific Northwest with Seattle & surrounding areas, then up to Alaska to fish with good friends.

I’ve never really gone fishing before (just sport fishing once in San Diego in my 20’s, which I deeply, deeeeeply disliked). All signs pointed to ‘you’ll hate this.’ I get sea sick easily, I don’t really love being cold or wet, and fish smells and guts aren’t my thing.

I took a gamble, and it was an adventure I’ll never forget.

The world is a glorious and expansive place, and I’m so grateful to be here, to have the chance to absorb allll of this beauty & light around me.

And the fish! All the delicious fish. We’ll be eating well this year.
